Fiber

Paco-Vicuña’s are bred for their fiber. The objective is to combine the wild vicuña’s unique softness, fineness, and high curvature with the added staple length and gentler temperament of the alpaca.

Paco-Vicuña’s range in color from natural white through a deep mahogany, although the medium vicuña color is most prevalent. The occasional black animal has been produced.

When compared to alpaca, PV has an additional softness and lightness without sacrificing warmth. The best way to experience the difference is to handle the fiber either at a local farm or fiber festival.
